James Corden takes the helm at The Sun

James Corden is to guest edit The Sun for Sport Relief 2014.

James Corden is being made editor of The Sun - for one day only.

The actor and comedian will be taking the reins on Thursday 20th March for what will be only the second issue in the paper’s 45 year history to have been overseen by a guest Ed. A total of 1p from every copy sold will go directly to Sport Relief, which is one of the UK's biggest fundraising events.

Over the past few weeks, Corden has been busy wreaking havoc at Sun HQ - and interviewing and setting up appearances with a range of celebs for his big takeover, say the publishers.

Corden’s special edition will feature exclusive interviews with David Cameron, Gareth Bale and Tom Daley, as well as features and commentary to highlight how Sport Relief money is used to help people living incredibly tough lives, both in the UK and abroad.

James Corden said: “I am really looking forward to spending the day in the editor’s chair and putting Sport Relief and the incredible work they do at the top of the editorial agenda.”

David Dinsmore, Editor of The Sun, said: “We are proud to have James editing the paper for a day. James has a fair few surprises up his sleeve and has enlisted the help of prominent friends from showbusiness and politics to make this special edition of The Sun a must-read.”

The Sport Relief games take place from Friday 21st March to Sunday 23rd March.
