Monthly visitors to Gamesradar.co.uk increased 36% month-on-month (MoM) to 3.1m visitors, pushing it up from second place, reports Future.
Future’s network of gaming sites also retained the number one position, after reaching the top of rankings in October. The network, which also includes PCGamer.com, itself a top 5 site, grew 28% MoM in November, compared to just 2% for the next-ranked network.
Gamesradar’s Editor in Chief, Sam Loveridge said: “Despite everything 2020 has thrown at us, the team at GamesRadar has pulled together to achieve our best year ever. Not only are we now the number one gaming site in the UK, but we've also pulled off another record year of traffic. It's a testament to how the team has really worked to understand our audience to continue delivering content that connects."
Matt Pierce, MD of Future’s Gaming vertical said: “We deliver the gaming content that our audience wants, and this number one spot is testament to that. To be number one in such a highly competitive sector – and during the busiest and most exciting time for gaming ever – is an incredible achievement.
Future’s gaming vertical has continued to break new ground this year, says the company. The first season of its collaboration with Barcroft Studios’ “Totally Game” show garnered over 23 million views across web and social.
The vertical will also have a considerable presence during Innovation Week (Jan 11-14) – the virtual exhibition Future is running as part of its role as media partner for the Consumer Electronics Show.
