Metro says the event will bring together some of the most influential and inspiring LGBTQ+ individuals and organisations at a celebration in London on 26 February, during LGBT+ History Month.
The publisher says The Metro Pride Awards will recognise LGBTQ+ trailblazers in the public eye who have achieved greatness across various fields, including entertainment, activism and entrepreneurial success.
The awards will also spotlight brands and organisations that have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting equality, diversity and LGBTQ+ rights within their sectors, added Metro.
“The Metro Pride Awards is a defining moment for us,” said Richard Hartley-Parkinson, executive editor of Metro.
“We are excited to celebrate those who have made significant contributions not just to the LGBTQ+ community but to society as a whole.
“By partnering on this event, we are reinforcing our commitment to amplifying diverse voices and shining a light on the remarkable achievements of individuals who inspire us all.”
Metro has invited the public to participate in the Metro Pride Awards by nominating their favourite LGBTQ+ heroes across a variety of categories.
Nominations are now open until 1 November and can be submitted here, where you can find further details about the categories and the nomination process.
