Publisher Mortons already has an extensive shows portfolio, which includes seven motorcycling events, ten autojumbles and three classic car shows. Mortons aims to grow the already successful and popular motorhome and caravan events from both a trade and customer perspective; while the acquisition also allows Mortons a new market in which to grow and develop.
Mortons’ managing director of events, Brian Hill, said: “We are really looking forward to expanding our portfolio within the caravanning market. Events Development Ltd has done a superb job in growing and developing these shows over a number of years and the pressure is certainly on our team to continue to the high standard both traders and customers have come to know and expect. We are really looking forward to get started.”
The first show under the new ownership is the UK Summer Motorhome and Caravan Show scheduled for The Kent Showground, Detling, on June 6 and 7.
The other events now coming under Mortons’ banner are the UK Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show as well as the UK Autumn Motorhome and Caravan Show, both held at the Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire.
Director of Events Development Ltd, Neil English said: “Having worked hard to nurture these shows over the past nine years, it is a pleasure to see the events continuing in such safe hands. Mortons Media Group has an impressive array of events and a proven track record of success, which we feel will take these events to a new level. We wish the new owners well and look forward to seeing continued success for the shows in the future.”
