Prior to her current role as a BBC Local Democracy Reporter for Shropshire, Emily worked at the Advertizer and Herald as Head of News for five years.
She joined the former NWN Media, now Newsquest North Wales, as a reporter in August 2010.
Emily replaces Colin Channon who left the company last month to join Tindle Newspapers.
She said: “The Oswestry Advertizer and Whitchurch Herald are excellent newspapers and I believe they have an exciting future ahead of them.
“I am looking forward to leading the enthusiastic team who produce these titles to produce the best content for the communities they serve.”
