Pixometry has announced v14 of its image workflow automation platform, used by publishers, media companies, and retailers to process large volumes of images efficiently. The company says the update introduces full support for the latest image formats, a refined automated toning engine, and architectural upgrades designed to increase throughput in high-volume production environments.

Pixometry says it automates repetitive image processing tasks: colour correction, background removal, cropping, format conversion and quality control that enables organisations to prepare large image volumes faster while maintaining consistent visual standards. The platform integrates directly into editorial, DAM, and publishing workflows and is available as SaaS or on-premise installation.

Pixometry v14 adds expanded compatibility with the latest image formats increasingly used by content creators, mobile devices and web platforms, the company continued.

The release introduces full WEBP import and export support, says Pixometry, alongside expanded compatibility for AVIF, HEIC, JPEG 2000 and JPEG XL. These new formats support publishers and digital platforms to optimise images for faster loading without sacrificing quality.

For organisations managing large image libraries or accepting varied delivery formats, this enables images to be processed, optimised, and delivered within a single automated workflow.

Pixometry's toning engine has been updated in v14 to deliver more consistent results across large and varied image collections. The release brings improved skin tone rendering, more accurate facial detection, refined contrast and colour balancing, and enhanced blue masking tools for better vibrancy control and noise reduction, says the company, whilst expanded Google Vision keyword support improves automated metadata tagging and image discoverability across connected systems.

Pixometry says select key new features include:

  • Full WEBP import and export; expanded compatibility for AVIF, HEIC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XL
  • Improved skin tone rendering and facial detection
  • Refined contrast, colour balancing, and blue masking tools
  • Expanded Google Vision keyword engine for automated metadata tagging
  • Improved masking tools for skin, sky, and complex subjects
  • SaaS-exclusive ICC profile syncing for team-wide colour consistency

Architectural upgrades in v14 increase the concurrent processing throughput for the higher volume queues, Pixometry continued. Core engine components updated include LCMS 2.17, the latest OpenCV, Java 25, Jetty 12.1.1, Infinispan, and JGroups. Native ARM support improves Pixometry Inspector performance on Apple Silicon Macs, and Photoshop 2026 integration extends compatibility for teams combining automated and manual editing workflows.
