Jordan’s inaugural column will be published across the Mail’s digital assets, MailOnline and Mail+, from Wednesday 15 February, and then every Thursday in the Daily Mail, says the publisher.
An accomplished writer and columnist, Jordan first began writing for The Observer in 2005 during the Premier League season, before a number of successful appearances on talkSPORT radio saw him join broadcaster Jim White as co-host of flagship weekday show ‘White and Jordan’ in 2020.
Jordan, who enjoys boxing and tennis among his other passions, is a successful entrepreneur and businessman who published his autobiography ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’ in 2012. He was the UK’s youngest football club Chairman, aged just 31 when he bought Crystal Palace FC in 2000.

I enjoy being a fox in the henhouse and having read Sportsmail from afar in my football days, I am thrilled to now have my own platform. If it’s anything like my radio show, as my regular listeners will attest, I’m never backwards in coming forwards.”
He teams up again with dmg media’s global publisher of sport, Lee Clayton. Clayton said: “Simon’s column will offer our readers his own unique and powerful insights, behind the curtain and into the world of sport, while also delivering unprecedented access into life as a former Premier League Chairman experienced in the buying and selling of players, and hiring and firing of managers. Inside or outside of football, you won't want to miss his opinions, although you might need to dive for cover!”
Jordan’s appointment follows Oliver Holt’s announcement as the Mail's chief sports writer. In a bold plan to run seven main columnists in seven days, Jordan joins Holt, legendary former Liverpool playmaker Graeme Souness, Ian Herbert, football editor Ian Ladyman, Riath Al-Samarrai and Matt Barlow on the roster.
