The Independent and Latitude Festival have announced an exclusive programme of video interviews featuring some of the biggest names appearing at this year's Latitude Festival.

As part of the partnership between the festival and the news brand, The Independent says it will host a series of in-depth conversations with artists, writers, comedians, scientists and cultural figures from across the Latitude line-up. The interviews will offer audiences insights into the lives, careers and creative processes of some of the festival's most anticipated guests.

The publisher says full interviews will be available to watch on both The Independent and Latitude Festival websites, with clips and highlights shared across social media channels in the lead-up to the festival.

The series began 8 June with comedian Rosie Jones in conversation with The Independent's Culture News Editor Lauren Morris, available here, before continuing with:

  • 10 June - YouTuber and musician James Marriott in conversation with The Independent's Brydie Monaghan
  • 15 June - Cosmonaut Helen Sharman interviewed by The Independent's Technology Editor Andrew Griffin
  • 17 June - Steve Mason of The Beta Band in conversation with broadcaster Shaun Keaveny
  • 22 June - Poet and playwright Inua Ellams interviewed by Brydie Monaghan
  • 24 June - Acclaimed choreographer Sir Matthew Bourne speaking with The Independent's Editor-in-Chief Geordie Greig

  • 1 July - Professor Chris Jackson speaking with Andrew Griffin
  • 6 July - The series culminates with Alex James, Blur bassist, farmer and celebrated cheesemaker, in conversation with The Independent's Music Editor Roisin O'Connor

The interview programme forms part of a wider collaboration between The Independent and Latitude Festival, designed to bring audiences closer to the people and ideas shaping one of the UK's most distinctive cultural events.

The partnership with Latitude will also see extensive Independent branding across various festival touchpoints, as well as on-stage appearances from The Independent's journalists and podcast talent from its production house, Independent Studio. Adam Cleary from football favourite ACFC, and Helen MacNamara and Cleo Watson from political podcast In The Room, will feature on Latitude's popular Listening Post stage.

Artists appearing at this year's festival include David Byrne, Teddy Swims, Lewis Capaldi, The Last Dinner Party, Tom Grennan, Wet Leg and Billy Ocean, alongside a comedy line-up featuring Ross Noble, Jen Brister, Jack Dee, Sara Pascoe, Sir Lenny Henry and Sue Perkins.

Latitude 2026 will also feature some of the most topical debates in science and culture at the Cosmic Shambles Forest of Science and Culture, with speakers including Helen Czerski and Julia Shaw. The Listening Post stage will host fascinating conversations with guests including Dr John Cooper Clarke.
