As part of the 12-month partnership, The Times says new and existing Times readers will also be offered access to Apple Music Classical events and Times-branded playlists.
Apple Music Classical is a new app designed for classical music. It makes it quick and easy to find any recording in the world’s largest classical music catalogue with fully optimised search. Listeners can also enjoy thousands of recordings in immersive Spatial Audio, added the publisher.
The publisher continued, Apple Music Classical includes hundreds of curated playlists and exclusive albums, insightful composer biographies, deep-dive guides for many key works, intuitive browsing features and much more.
Apple is working closely with some of the greatest classical music artists and organisations in the world to offer Apple Music Classical listeners new, exclusive content and recordings. Partner organisations offering exclusive content include London Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic and Vienna Philharmonic orchestras, alongside the Metropolitan Opera and Opera de Paris.
Chris Longcroft, EVP, publisher, Times Media, said: “As the exclusive UK newspaper launch partner for Apple Music Classical, we are delighted Times users have the opportunity to start exploring and discovering the finest classical recordings and performances with their subscription. For seasoned classical fans to beginners alike, it promises to be a real treat.”
To gain access, the publisher says all existing subscribers of The Times will be sent an email with details of how to sign-up. New customers to The Times will also receive details upon signing up.
