Kaylie Smith: “We are thrilled to be launching the inaugural Time Out Arts & Culture Awards in Australia, celebrating the best of performing and visual arts and culture over the past 12 months.”

Earlier this month Time Out announced the launch of its inaugural Time Out Arts & Culture Awards in Australia.

Time Out says the awards will honour the organisations, spaces, performances and talents that make the arts and culture scenes so extraordinary. There will be seven critically-reviewed award categories as well as people’s choice categories, with nominees shortlisted and judged by Time Out’s local expert arts and culture critics. The awards will be celebrated with events in Sydney and Melbourne on 29 July 2024, where the winners will be announced.

The awards will celebrate the cultural moments Time Out editors, writers and readers loved in the past year, added the publisher.

The awards are sponsored by The Pinnacle Foundation, who focus on empowering LGBTQIA+ youth through educational scholarships, mentorship programs and support networks, aiming to provide them with opportunities for personal and professional growth, added Time Out.

Kaylie Smith, Time Out APAC’s managing director, said: “We are thrilled to be launching the inaugural Time Out Arts & Culture Awards in Australia, celebrating the best of performing and visual arts and culture over the past 12 months – including musicals, plays, art exhibitions and museum displays. Time Out’s local expert editors have shortlisted the very best, and there are also people’s choice categories for our readers to have their say.

“Time Out is dedicated to spotlighting and celebrating thriving and diverse arts communities, and we wanted to find a way to recognise the strength and breadth of talent in Australia. Time Out’s Food & Drink Awards have been running for many years and are a huge success, hotly anticipated by nominees and readers alike, so we’re excited to add another award to our offering that represents the Time Out ethos.”
