From Friday 18th July to Tuesday 26th August, Westfield London will host Time Out Presents: Sounds of the Summer - a new and exclusive physical activation and weekly music series held on Westfield Square. Time Out says this immersive open-air experience will invite and encourage visitors to spend time, relax and discover a new musical space in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush, all free of charge.
Curated and programmed by Time Out, Sounds of Summer will offer every Friday a line-up of DJs and performers bringing the best in eclectic beats and party vibes to Westfield London. Headlining on 15th August is Social Media sensation DJ AG – winner of Time Out’s 2024 Londoner of the Year, whose viral mashups have earned collaborations and shout-outs from global stars including Ed Sheeran, Jamelia, Alesha Dixon and Will Smith, added Time Out.
Every Saturday, Westfield London will host live performances from emerging artists supported by UD Music – an organisation dedicated to promoting young Black talent across London, continued Time Out. UD Music has helped launch the careers of UK music icons like Skepta and Little Simz, and now Westfield visitors can discover the next generation of talent live from West London. UD Music focuses on the sounds, words, and rhythms of Black music culture, including genres like R&B, soul, Alté, Afrobeat, Afro-soul, grime, rap, hip-hop, and drill, often blending these styles to create fresh, genre-defying performances.
Amplifying, driving awareness and encouraging engagement, the supporting media campaign – complementing the in-real-life experience and developed by Time Out’s Creative Solutions team – will span Time Out digital platforms with a mix of editorial and branded content, added the publisher. Using Time Out’s authoritative yet fun and playful tone of voice, Sounds of the Summer will be positioned as a go-to for summer fun, whether for a drop-in experience amidst a day of shopping, a timed & programmed event or to get involved and perform in the space.
