Tom Bureau, CEO of Burda International and chair of Immediate, has been announced as the new chair of the supervisory board for jobs network and employee branding company New Work SE.

The New Work Group strives towards creating a better working life for its users and members, incorporating brands including the jobs network, XING, and the employer rating platform, kununu. New Work Group’s products and solutions include premium membership, active recruiting and passive recruiting, employer branding, native advertising and marketing solutions.

Based in Hamburg with around 1,400 employees and offices in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Austria and Switzerland, New Work’s biggest brand XING is a recruiting platform in German-speaking countries, with the largest talent pool membership of more than 22 million, added the company.

Tom Bureau says: “I’m delighted to be appointed chair of New Work. In addition to supervisory board chair for New Work SE, Tom is also CEO of Burda International and Chairman of Immediate, home to some of the biggest and most loved consumer brands in the UK, including Radio Times, Good Food, Nutracheck, HistoryExtra and BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine. Bureau was the founding CEO of Immediate in 2011 alongside Exponent Private Equity.

In 2017 Tom oversaw Immediate’s sale to German based media and tech company Hubert Burda Media. Tom became chair of Immediate in 2023. In 2021, Tom was appointed CEO of Burda International, owner of 250 media brands across 11 countries in Europe and Asia, with a focus on content-driven businesses, new technologies and e commerce. Burda Digital is the majority shareholder of New Work.
