Trinity Mirror appoints new CTO

Trinity Mirror plc has announced the appointment of Eirik Svendsen in the newly created role of Group Chief Technology Officer.

Eirik has been an executive at Schibstead Media Group, an international media group, since 2011. His career history to date has included internet-centric companies across Europe, with roles at broadcasting software company Vizrt and publishing software company Escenic, amongst others.

In his new role, Eirik will have overall responsibility for all technology and product management strategy and implementation across the group at Trinity Mirror, including innovation of the customer experience and architectures. He will report into Chief Executive Simon Fox and be part of the executive team, leading the Product, Engineering, Systems and Infrastructure teams.

Eirik, 40, currently resides in Barcelona and will be relocating to London before taking up the Trinity Mirror role in July.
