UK launch: Lindy’s Pro Football 2013 Preview

18 July: Lindy’s Pro Football 2013 Preview, the annual publication for American Football fans, has its UK launch this month. It goes on sale on 30 July, priced £5.95.

According to distributors COMAG: Founded in 1982 by Lindy Davis, Lindy’s Sports publishes magazines about most of America’s main sports and is a renowned and trusted source of news and information about them.

Building on this success and ahead of the two National Football League (NFL) games being played at Wembley this coming autumn, Lindy’s Sports is launching its iconic preview magazine into the UK for the forthcoming season, with features and articles just for British fans of the sport.

Since the Miami Dolphins played the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium in 2007, American Football has taken off in the UK in recent years and become a popular late night TV programme.

Not only has there been an official NFL regular season game played in the UK since the original 2007 match, but audiences, both at Wembley and on TV have grown significantly each year and it is estimated that more than 500,000 people have applied for tickets to see a game in this time.

Because of this, the NFL announced that for 2013 there would be two regular season games this year, the first on 29 September when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Pittsburgh Steelers and another on 27 October, when the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the San Francisco 49ers.

As well as this, the NFL has revealed that the Jacksonville Jaguars will play a regular season game at Wembley Stadium every year until 2016, showing a commitment to British NFL fans.

Every year, Lindy’s Pro Football 2013 Preview has the schedule of matches, team rosters with player comments, biographies of drafted players for the coming season, as well as the statistics, match reports, tactics and analysis of the games from the previous season.

In addition to all this, the UK launch issue of the magazine will have a 16-page insert about London as a venue, previous game at Wembley Stadium, debate whether London is ready for a full-time franchise team and take a detailed look at British-born NFL players past and present.

With American Football taking off in this country, it is only fitting that that the UK gets its own magazine and where better to get this from than the leading U.S. authority on all things gridiron!
