Advanced Photoshop has 4 winning covers

Advanced Photoshop has revealed the winners of an exclusive competition, in association with iStockphoto.com, which challenged digital artists from the Photoshop community to create one of four exclusive cover images.

Each entrant had to use stock photography, supplied by iStockphoto.com, and Photoshop to create a piece of cover art for Advanced Photoshop magazine. The winners are shown on four unique split-run covers this month, as well as receiving a cash prize and iStockphoto.com credits.

The winners are Michael Oswald of California, USA; Ryan Forshaw of Manchester, UK; Rob Shields of Philadelphia, USA; and Meg Pietrzyk of Warsaw, Poland. As well as being displayed on the cover, the four winners, together with 18 shortlisted entries, appear in a special extended feature within the magazine.

“We were really pleased with the standard of artwork submitted to this competition,” said Editor, Julie Easton. “The judges had a hard time picking the four winners who would grace the magazine cover from so many high-quality submissions by so many talented digital artists. We’re really pleased that the Photoshop community rose to this challenge, creating artwork that thoroughly deserves pride of place on the cover.”

The Advanced Photoshop & iStockphoto.com ‘Create a Cover’ winners and runners-up are showcased in issue 65, on sale now. All submissions to the competition can be seen at www.advancedphotoshop.co.uk/user/comp_entries  where users can comment on and rate the images.
