John Mulvey: “It’s another great way to talk to our expanding international audience of music obsessives, as we connect with them across more and more platforms."

Bauer Media music magazine MOJO is expanding its brand portfolio with a new podcast series ‘The MOJO Record Club’. Hosted by MOJO’s senior associate editor and broadcaster and podcaster Andrew Male. It marks the second podcast created by the magazine, following its series ‘The MOJO Innovators’ in 2019.

‘The MOJO Record Club’ will be similar to the magazine’s approach to music criticism and appreciation; listeners can expect warm, celebratory discussions where hosts and guests join the dots between the music of previous decades and the music that’s being made now, explaining what makes it so great in an unpretentious and inclusive way, says the publisher.

Launching on Friday 8th July, the first episode will feature audio extracts from MOJO’s recent cover story interview with Patti Smith. Each episode will range from 40-60 minutes.

“A proper MOJO podcast is something we’ve been working on for a long time,” says MOJO editor John Mulvey. “It’s another great way to talk to our expanding international audience of music obsessives, as we connect with them across more and more platforms. Our host will be MOJO’s senior associate editor Andrew Male, who’ll bring together our extended family of writers, musicians and fans to discuss great records old and new, beloved and obscure, and much more.”

‘The MOJO Record Club’ will be available from July 8th with a new episode every fortnight. It will be available on all mainstream podcast providers.
