The four-part Death in Denmark is an English-language version of Bauer Denmark’s number 1 true crime podcast, Danske Drabssager.
It will feature the people at the heart of some of Denmark’s most memorable murder cases, reviewing four murder cases in-depth from start to finish.
Experts include crime reporter and host Stine Bolther, former homicide detective Jens Møller Jensen, forensic scientist Hans Petter Hougen, forensic technician Bent Hytholm Jensen, and lawyer, Jakob Buch-Jepsen. The team – at least one of whom was always personally involved in each case – take apart the investigation, forensics, and the conviction.
Season 1 (the first 4 episodes) has already been produced and broadcast in Danish. The original Danish series was number 1 on the main Danish itunes chart for 8 weeks and Season 2 is currently in production, says Bauer.
Each 50 minute episode will be available to listen to from Wednesday 28 October.
Crime Monthly editor, Julia Davis commented: “With 7.1 million people in the UK now listening to podcasts each week and true crime ranked as the second popular genre after comedy it makes complete sense for Crime Monthly to engage with its audience in this way.”
The podcast will be supported by an in-house marketing campaign including pre-roll on all Bauer podcasts, features in Crime Monthly magazine, email marketing, social media and advertising on some of Bauer Media UK’s radio stations and Instream channels, says Bauer Media.
