Country Living UK’s April issue, on sale from today, marks an evolution for the brand as it enters its fifth decade.
Editor-in-Chief Saska Graville has introduced new sections and formats, building on the brand’s core pillars and drawing on recent audience insight highlighting a community that spans both rural and urban dwellers.
The publisher says the new-look title launches with a new tagline - The countryside is yours - reflecting the brand’s commitment to making the countryside accessible wherever and however its audience chooses to experience it.
New contributors include Channel 5’s Graeme Hall, aka The Dogfather, content creator and Hill House Vintage founder Paula Sutton; garden designer Jo Thompson; interior designer Russell Loughlan; and restaurateur Dan O’Regan. The reimagined magazine also features new sections centred around food and travel, dogs, artisans and craft, homes and decorating, and gardens.
Personalities inside the April issue include rapper-turned-farmer Fekky discussing life on his Cambridgeshire chicken farm, actor Alan Cumming on his plans for Scotland’s Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and fashion icon David Gandy who shares his love for Dora, the rescue dog who stole his heart.
The refresh also extends across the brand’s growing ecosystem. The publisher says CountryLiving.com/UK is up 11% Year-on-Year, while its licensing programme includes partnerships with retailers including DFS and Barefoot Caravans. Country Living’s event portfolio has been running for more than 30 years and its Artisan Collective provides a successful membership proposition for artisan and small business partners.
Saska Graville, editor-in-chief, Country Living UK, says: “As Country Living enters its fifth decade, this refresh celebrates everything our audience already loves about the brand, while confidently evolving it to appeal to new readers. We know our community are just as likely to be in a city as they are in the countryside, but they share a desire to live more thoughtfully, more beautifully and more connected to nature.”
