DC Thomson Media appoints Andy Williams as Chief Revenue Officer

DC Thomson Media has introduced the role of Chief Revenue Officer to the business, to focus on commercial activities that generate revenue across the newspaper and magazine teams.

Andy Williams will take on this role and will move from the Fleet Street office in London, to the company’s headquarters in Dundee.

Mike Watson, Chief Executive Officer at DC Thomson Media, said, “Andy’s appointment as CRO highlights our focus on commercialising activity across the business, from traditional print through to some of our diversifications like events.

“Since joining the business 8 years ago, Andy has built great relationships internally and externally, and I’m thrilled that Andy will be joining the executive team in our Dundee headquarters.”

As Chief Revenue Officer, Andy will develop and grow new revenue streams for DC Thomson Media, working with colleagues across the business as well as external partners. Identifying acquisition targets and measuring the scale of commercial opportunity will be key to the role.

Speaking of the change of role, Andy Williams, Chief Revenue Officer at DC Thomson Media said, “I’m really excited to be widening my remit within the business to encompass commercial activities across different areas. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on commercialising our existing activities as well as identifying new areas for growth and acquisition targets. Moving to join the team in our Dundee headquarters is a fantastic opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”

DC Thomson Media has gone through a significant period of acquisition in the last 18 months following the purchase of Aceville Publications, PSP Media, Kingdom FM, Original 106 and Wave FM. Ensuring the commercial success of these acquisitions as well as the identification of potential acquisition targets will be a focus for Andy in the role of Chief Revenue Officer, says the company.
