Gold Key Media has announced that Duncan MacGillivray will be taking the opportunity to take early retirement from his role as deputy managing director of Gold Key Media at the end of July after serving 25 years with the company.

Duncan joined Gold Key Media in 2001, having previously worked as circulation manager for the Financial Times. During his 25 years he’s been instrumental in helping the business grow into becoming the world leader in specialised media distribution that it is today.

Chris Horn, managing director of Gold Key Media said: “Duncan and I have been inseparable for the last 25 years and I’m going to miss his wisdom and razor-sharp wit massively. His contribution to the growth and awesome reputation that we now have as a business has been enormous and I can’t thank him enough for being there for every step of the way of this incredible journey of growth and success”.

Duncan’s departure has allowed the business to re-structure and re-shape from within, added Gold Key Media, and has announced two significant promotions within the company.

Sally Ingram, formerly commercial partnerships director, will become deputy managing director and will continue to head up the Venue and Digital division within Gold Key Media, while also taking on broader strategic and operational responsibilities across the business. Sally joined the company in 2009 as an account manager, having previously worked for the Kent Messenger. Over her 17 years at Gold Key Media, she has built an extensive network and developed considerable knowledge of both the business and the wider industry, making her ideally placed to support the company's continued growth and success, Gold Key Media continued.

Clare Scott, formerly head of publisher & brand services will become director of publisher & brand services. Clare will continue to head up the Publishing Division, alongside taking on additional responsibilities within the business. Clare first joined the business back in 2007 following a period with Jones Yarrell, she then rejoined the business back in 2014 after having her family.

Chris Horn said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Sally and Clare have been promoted into these two senior roles within the business. They’re both incredibly knowledgeable about our industry and have both built considerable respect and credibility during their time here at Gold Key Media. Our industry is unrecognisable from what it was when they joined the business and it’s a testament to their entrepreneurial ability and versatility that they continue to help us to adapt and thrive during these significant shifts within the media landscape”.
