The Economist has announced that subscribers to Samsung's mobile services will have access to The Economist app on all of Samsung’s next generation devices – including the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge – which were unveiled at the Unpacked 2015 event at MWC on 1st March in Barcelona.
The Economist app is available on Samsung’s new flagship smartphones as part of the Galaxy Gifts package, a collection of premium and exclusive mobile content, available to Samsung subscribers.
Tom Standage, Deputy Editor and Head of Digital Strategy at The Economist commented: “By 2020, 80% of adults will have a smartphone. They are truly personal computers that bridge the realms of bits and atoms, transforming lives and reshaping industries, including our own. The inclusion of The Economist app in Samsung Galaxy Gifts will help us deliver our analysis of global trends to even more readers, wherever they are.”
The Economist has a history of partnering with Samsung on their newly launched digital devices. The app has been featured in Galaxy Gifts on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, allowing Samsung consumers to stay up to date with global current affairs and understand what’s happening around the world, says The Economist.
