Hearst announces new appointments

Hearst Magazines International has moved to strengthen its management team as a result of the recent acquisition of Lagardère Active’s international magazine business, it has been announced by Duncan Edwards, president and CEO of Hearst Magazines International (HMI).

Arnaud de Puyfontaine (pictured) has been appointed executive vice president, Hearst Magazines International in addition to his existing position as CEO of The National Magazine Company (NatMag), Hearst’s wholly-owned U.K. business.

In addition, Jean de Boisdeffre, formerly CEO of Hachette’s international magazine business, has been retained by Hearst as a senior consultant under a secondment agreement from Lagardère. Lynn Heatherton has been appointed Executive Director Strategy and Operations, HMI in New York; previously, she was VP Corporate Planning and Performance at Hachette.

Commenting on the appointments, Edwards said, “I am pleased to be able to make these appointments as our business is expanding. Arnaud, Jean and Lynn bring considerable experience to their respective roles with the organization and are joining an existing team of the highest quality. I am glad to be able to have access to their knowledge and advice.”

The three appointments complete the senior management team for Hearst Magazines International, which includes the following existing roles:

Simon Horne: SVP, CFO and general manager

Kim St. Clair Bodden: SVP, editorial director

Jeannette Chang: SVP, international publishing director

Jay McGill: SVP, business development, Europe, Middle East, Africa

Patrick Brennan: VP, business development, Asia/Pacific and Latin America

Sophia Stuart: executive director, digital media
