Hearst UK appoints Louise Benson
Louise Benson: “I’ve long admired both titles, and I’m excited to join at such a pivotal time in their journey.”

Hearst UK has announced the appointment of Louise Benson as portfolio director - homes, with responsibility for driving the strategic direction of Country Living UK and House Beautiful UK.

With over 25 years working in the media and creative industries, Louise’s experience spans fundraising, marketing, communications, content and digital, having previously directed several Lions Festivals, the Edinburgh International Television Festival and the World Architectural Festival. She most recently held the role of development director at The Film and TV Charity.

Hearst UK says Louise joins at an exciting time for its UK Homes portfolio, as Country Living and House Beautiful increased their combined share of the home interest market in the latest round of ABCs. Both brands have a successful licensing programme, partnering with retailers including DFS. While Country Living’s marquee event, Good Housekeeping Live with Country Living Christmas Market, is set to return to London’s Business Design Centre in November, and its Artisan Collective programme, which provides a membership proposition for artisan and small business partners, continues to go from strength to strength.

Liz Moseley, MD Good Housekeeping/Good Housekeeping Institute and Homes, said: “Louise is a proper entrepreneur. Creative and charismatic, she knows how to hustle in all the best ways. I can’t wait to see what she brings to these gorgeous tactile brands, working with our powerhouse editors in Saska and Torri.”

Louise commented: “Country Living and House Beautiful are such iconic brands, each with a rich heritage and deeply engaged, passionate communities. I’ve long admired both titles, and I’m excited to join at such a pivotal time in their journey. I look forward to collaborating with the hugely talented teams on this next chapter.”

Louise commenced her role yesterday.
