House Beautiful launches House Beautiful Homes

House Beautiful has launched a premier collection of contemporary custom-built houses.

Working in partnership with Futureform and South Bank Architects, House Beautiful Homes are manufactured offsite using state-of-the-art modular construction techniques. They are delivered fully fitted out and erected on site anywhere in the UK within 24 hours, from as little as £110,000, say the publishers.

Reflecting the changing patterns of family life, the four designs include a spacious one-storey starter/retirement home (Cherry), a three-bedroomed family home (Maple), a multi-generation home with two separate living areas (Rowan), and a luxury family house (Mulberry).

The houses are all open-plan, combining multi-functional living with private spaces. The modular system means buyers can choose the interior layout, kitchen, bathroom, flooring and external finish – and change the layout as they see fit by simply adding more modules.

“Custom-building enables buyers to create a bespoke home without taking the risk of building from scratch,” said Julia Goodwin, House Beautiful Homes Creative Director and Editor of House Beautiful. “With our designs it’s about putting your own personal stamp on your living space without the stress, hassle and cost of a self-build. All of our homes have minimal carbon footprint and provide a real solution to the current housing shortage in the UK. House Beautiful Homes will be lived in and loved.”

“House Beautiful Homes is a ground breaking concept for a magazine brand, which allows us to use our unique insight of our audience to develop the aspirational yet functional homes they desire,” said Sharon Douglas, Group Publishing Director Hearst Magazines UK. “Each house has been designed to reflect the same style, elegance and practicality that is synonymous with the House Beautiful Brand. But, at the same time, the customer has complete control over the final look and feel.”

“This is a hugely exciting area and I’d like to see it grow,” said Brandon Lewis, Housing Minister. “Advanced techniques allow you to build houses faster and custom-building makes everything so much more affordable. This moves us into a totally different realm. It’s exciting.”
