IPSO Chairman Sir Alan Moses said: “I’m delighted to welcome someone of Helyn’s calibre to IPSO’s Complaints Committee.
It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of independent analysis, rigour and commitment in dealing with thousands of complaints considered by the Committee. I know Helyn will bring a distinct and invaluable perspective to its work.”
Helyn Mensah said: “I am thrilled to be joining the IPSO Complaints Committee. I have always believed that an independent, objective and ethical press is critical to democratic society, and I am particularly interested in the role for this reason. I hope to be able to bring my skills to bear in helping the Committee determine and promote the essential balance between freedom of expression and rights of the individual.”
