Exact Editions says, since launching in 2010, Jacobin has grown to be one of the foremost voices of American socialism, offering a perspective on politics, economics and culture. Past contributors to Jacobin have included figures such as Slavoj Žižek, Yanis Varoufakis, Kristen Ghodsee, Pablo Iglesias Turrión, and Jeremy Corbyn.
A recent issue of Jacobin is themed around “Trumpism”. It analyses the potential economic policy of a second Trump term, how working-class identity politics are used by the right, as well as a breakdown of JD Vance and Project 2025, added Exact Editions.
Jacobin’s sister publication, Catalyst, a peer-reviewed academic journal, will also join the Exact Editions platform, continued the company. The journal aims to develop a theory and strategy with capitalism as its target, and compliments Jacobin’s ardent examination of left-wing ideology.
Exact Editions says academic and public libraries can purchase IP-authenticated access to these digital archives, as well as new issues as they are released. The publishing partnership enables Jacobin to host both publications on a fully-searchable digital publishing platform whilst also connecting the magazine to new institutions and audiences across the world.
Asher Dupuy-Spencer, publisher of Jacobin, has said: “We are thrilled to offer institutions IP-authenticated access to Jacobin and Catalyst. The digital platform hosts both digital archive in a stylish and effective format, and Exact Editions’ strong connection to the academic library subscriptions market make this partnership an exciting development for the Jacobin Foundation.”
Daryl Rayner, managing director of Exact Editions, has said: “As leading political titles, Jacobin and Catalyst have a clear appeal to the academic library audiences Exact Editions works closely with. We look forward to providing digital access to these excellent magazines to institutions across the globe.”
Library Subscriptions to Jacobin and Catalyst are available on the Exact Editions website:
