Over 250 attendees gathered yesterday at Twickenham Stadium for ISEM 2010. The top class line up of speakers guarantees that the conference will deliver unique insight, opinion, and top level analysis of the major issues facing the fast-developing sports events sector, say the organisers.
The Conference will kick off with Paul Deighton and Dmitry Chernyshenko, the two Olympic Chiefs of the upcoming Summer and Winter Olympic Games, presenting keynote speeches, followed by a joint Q&A session.
Lalit Modi, architect of the Indian Premier League, will participate in a live Q&A session where he will reflect on the success of the IPL and the future of sport in India.
Danny Jordaan, CEO of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, will present on the organisation of the South African World Cup, followed by a post event debrief, sharing his views on the commercial and social benefits for South Africa.
The first conference day will end with John Scott, CEO of Glasgow 2014, giving a keynote speech on the planning of the next Commonwealth Games.
Day one will be followed by the 2010 ISEM Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony this evening, recognising excellence in major sports events.
Conference day two will start with an interview with Gilbert Felli who will share some of his career highlights, and discuss the major challenges currently being faced by Olympic organising committees in planning and staging truly memorable games. He will also discuss his insight on the future of the Olympic Games.
