Men’s Fitness Launches Fully Interactive iPad App

Men’s Fitness, one of Britain’s leading Fitness magazines, has announced the launch of its all-new interactive iPad app, offering the “best in fitness journalism combined with state-of-the-art interactive features and exclusive content”.

The new interactive app available on the iTunes store from yesterday, features a world exclusive interview with Olympic record-breaking swimmer, Michael Phelps. Since becoming the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, with 22 medals, Michael Phelps discusses what the future has in wait for him.

Publisher of Men’s Fitness, Russell Blackman, comments: “The appetite for Men’s Fitness content has never been stronger and it’s increasingly clear that our readers’ needs are evolving in the way they want to consume our content. Our exciting new interactive edition is a true reflection of this and allows us to continue to deliver on our 360 degree brand approach in delivering content when, how and most importantly, where readers want it.

With our total brand reach increasing 16% YOY and a print ABC increase of 5.6% POP, the interactive edition represents another exciting development for Men’s Fitness UK offering readers and advertisers further opportunities to engage with a truly multiplatform and interactive brand.”

Men’s Fitness interactive edition brings MyPages to the magazine, the first title from Dennis Publishing to receive the feature. MyPages allows the user to favourite individual features from each issue enabling the reader to tailor the magazine to their own personal interest, creating a personalised multi-issue portfolio. The MyPages tool also allows you to share every feature from the magazine with your friends, whether it is a new recipe, interview or exercise via facebook, twitter and email.

Blackman continues: “Off the back of our highly successful replica digital edition which has had over 1.5million downloads, the interactive issue will go one step further of bringing our authoritative and entertaining fitness advice to life with exclusive videos, workouts and an ability to build your own personal fitness log or portfolio of articles with our MyPages functionality. Readers will see the app continue to evolve, with further interactivity and unique features added over the coming months.”

The interactive iPad edition is priced at £2.99 per issue and is available from the iTunes store. The app launches with a sampler edition of the January 2013 issue as well as the full February 2013 edition.

The app features several interactive adverts, which were created by Dennis’s in-house ad creative team. The content and functionality of the ads were designed and built from the ground up by the teams to make full use of the iPad’s functionality. The ads include the Remington Touch and Diamond advert which features a video, 360-degree product view, hotspots and the chance to use the touchscreen to shave a face with your finger.
