Cafeyn launches new product and brand identity
Laurent Kayser: “This new brand identity reflects what we want to highlight at Cafeyn; a space protected from the flow of non-hierarchical information and, sometimes, false information.”

Cafeyn, a French news streaming company, has announced the launch of a new version of its application as well as a redesign of its brand identity. Cafeyn says these developments place the user at the heart of a bespoke reading experience, allowing them to access a wide range of content. A national media campaign will run from 16 September to 6 October 2024 in France to support the launch, added the company.

Cafeyn says the new application, available to its users from 11 September in France and 17 September in the United Kingdom, redefines the standards of personalisation in the field of digital information and aims to give users more control in the creation of their own reading experience. After having defined their reading preferences during login, each user will have access to their favourite titles and news topics via a personalised home page, while being invited to explore new content, through reading recommendations that match their interests, added Cafeyn.

The user will also be free to choose the reading format that suits them (PDF, article, audio, etc.) depending on their preferences.

"Our ambition is to make each user the architect of their own information universe," says Raphaël Rodrigues, technical and product director at Cafeyn. "This new experience is part of our long-term vision: to enable the reader's to access the right content at the right time, while inviting them to explore new horizons."

This new product also expands the opportunities for partnerships with publishers, added Cafeyn, via the introduction of Media Pages dedicated to each brand in order to highlight the mix of brands, formats and content from publishers.

To support the product evolution, Cafeyn has unveiled a new brand identity, it says characterised by:

  • More neutral and warmer tones to create a feeling of intimacy, rest and protection
  • A clean design, to better highlight the quality content produced by publishers
  • A new font and deliberately more contrasting colors in order to maximize reading comfort on screen and improve accessibility for all audiences

To develop this new brand identity, Cafeyn says it surveyed its users for several weeks, revealing a strong demand for personalisation. Cafeyn says it chose elements that position personalisation at the heart of the experience, inviting the user to create their own reading space.

Laurent Kayser, CEO of Cafeyn said: “This new brand identity reflects what we want to highlight at Cafeyn; a space protected from the flow of non-hierarchical information and, sometimes, false information. We want to offer our users a setting in which to take time to consult a mix of quality content, so that they can develop “good information hygiene”.

To support this launch, Cafeyn has announced it is rolling out a national media campaign in France from 16 September to 6 October 2024, led by the headline “Read as you like”.

According to Cafeyn, the campaign is based on:

  • A creative concept designed in-house, which plays on each person's reading preferences to explain the personalization offered by the new Cafeyn experience
  • A media plan to reach typical Cafeyn users, with:
    • An OOH display (buses, street furniture) in fifteen cities in metropolitan France as well as press advertisements
    • A digital component operated by an external agency, with a YouTube film for social networks.
