MNA appoints new digital MD

A new managing director has been appointed to lead the expansion of the Midland News Association’s digital operation.

Andy Hill, 41, who is currently marketing services director for Zoopla Property Group, will take over the role on Monday January 26.

Andy will be responsible for managing the growth of revenues from the MNA’s online platforms, along with the development of web solutions and the improvement of audience engagement.

In his current role, Andy manages Zoopla’s marketing services division. He has played a leading role in the online property site’s expansion of its digital portfolio.

Andy has 18 years’ experience of digital commercial platforms. He worked for Trader Media Group, publisher of Auto Trader, from 1996 until 2012, including a spell as UK Business Development & Sales Director for the company’s Razsor.com offering.

Andy said: “I am looking forward to the new role and am excited about the opportunity of joining the MNA.”

Managing director Phil Inman said: “I am delighted that Andy has chosen to join the MNA to lead the development of its digital platforms.

“His considerable experience in growing online revenues will ensure that we are best positioned to maximise the opportunities ahead of us.”

Andy lives in Stratford-upon-Avon with his wife Karla and son Sebastian. As well as being a self-confessed “gadget and technology geek”, his interests include running and playing the guitar.

The ABCe results for January to June showed rapid audience growth for the MNA’s lead websites expressandstar.com, which attracted nearly 1.95m monthly unique browsers (up 66.7% year on year), and shropshirestar.com, which had 825,568 monthly uniques (up 72.2%), says MNA.
