New editor for three Archant weekly papers

Three Archant Herts & Cambs weekly newspapers will have a new editor from December 8 as Stefan Bartlett takes over at the Hunts Post, Dunmow Broadcast and Saffron Walden Reporter.

Stefan, who is currently editor of Local World title Luton on Sunday, takes over from editor Andy Veale, who is going in the opposite direction to become the new deputy editor of the Cambridge News after eight years at the Hunts Post.

Stefan has extensive and successful publishing experience in local newspapers, consumer magazines and digital platforms after working in senior editorial roles that also include the Birmingham Post and Mail, Emap and Bauer Media.

Stefan said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as editor for the Hunts Post, Dunmow Broadcast and Saffron Walden Reporter series of titles and websites. I'm really looking forward to working with the editorial teams and delivering the highest quality editorial content for our readers across these markets.”

Archant Herts & Cambs Publishing Director, Jonathan Cropley, said: “I am delighted Stefan is joining us. He’s passionate about quality content, has a strong background in growing audiences online and in print and is very commercially aware. He’s also got demonstrable experience of developing people whilst working in smaller teams.”

The free circulations of the Archant titles are: Hunts Post 41,000, Dunmow Broadcast 12,500, Saffron Walden Reporter 16,500.
