Carol has worked at News Scotland for the past 11 years with roles at The Scottish Sun, including brand manager and senior marketing manager. Recently, she successfully spearheaded The Scottish Sun’s ‘Books for Schools’ campaign, in conjunction with Harper Collins, as well as the launch of its three digital radio stations with a major above the line campaign. In her new role she will be responsible for the management of News Scotland’s marketing teams across all brands and functions.

In addition, Sarah Brophy has been promoted to senior marketing executive, following ten years at the company, working across The Scottish Sun and The Scottish Sun on Sunday. She recently managed sales-driving promotional activity and will provide key support in marketing and strategic planning and activation.

The group is also looking to hire a new marketing executive.

News Scotland managing director, Richard Bogie, said: “I’m delighted to announce these two well-deserved promotions. Both Carol and Sarah have been with us for a number of years and have made a real contribution to our position as the fastest-growing media brand in Scotland. We are always delighted to promote from within and help our best people progress their careers. Carol and Sarah will excel in their new roles. 2019 promises to be an exciting year for News Scotland, as we seek to build on our market leading position.”
