Puzzler magazine launched in 1972 and was the UK’s first ever dedicated puzzle magazine, says the publisher.
Announcing the launch of Puzzler GOLD, a limited-edition bookazine that contains a collection of over 125 puzzles and quizzes, the publisher says that it is a celebration of 50 years of puzzling and popular culture. Each dedicated section of this innovative compilation begins with a Quiz of the Decade and features themed puzzles for every era, from Puzzler’s arrival on magazine shelves back in 1972 to the digital decades of the 21st century. Joining the puzzle party are all the favourites, they added, with classics such as Round Tour, Honeycomb and Continuity, plus new teasers with a twist to keep even seasoned solvers on their toes. Puzzler GOLD aims to raise a glass in tribute to the magazine and its wonderful readers.
Head of Content, Mark Whiteway, says: “Puzzle magazines come and go on an almost monthly basis in the magazine category, so it’s a great privilege to be able to work on a title that’s been part of British culture for 50 years, and is treasured by solvers and staff alike. We aim for that fine balance of familiarity, innovation and challenge that will satisfy solvers of all ages and abilities. I believe this magic mix of ingredients is why Puzzler has stood the test of time, continuing to entertain generations of enthusiastic readers.”
Puzzler GOLD is on sale 17 August priced at £5.99.
