Jake Murtagh: “This World Cup, our offering will be bigger than ever, with more live, more video and more audio than ever before.”

This year, Reach says its titles will be covering the FIFA World Cup action for English, Scottish and American audiences, across their brands and a variety of formats for every football (and soccer) fanatic.

Throughout the tournament, the publisher says more than 30 reporters, editors, videographers and photographers will be covering the matches and all the surrounding news as it happens, from the host cities in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Coverage from both on the ground and back home includes:

  • The Make Football Great Again podcast hosted by reporter Harry Brent, with guest experts from around the world sharing insights and opinions.
  • The seven-day-a-week Make Football Great Again newsletter, where readers get the latest from the World Cup delivered straight to their inboxes every morning.
  • All Out Football’s special edition of the In The Mixer podcast which will see the debut of our World Cup Hosts, comedian Ali Woods and Football Content Creator Laura Kirk-Francis.
  • A live blog with daily dispatches from reporters at the heart of the action on the Mirror, the Express and the Record.
  • Hotline Live, the essential must-watch for Scottish football fans during the season, is now turning its attention to all things World Cup, and coming live each evening from the US.
  • The newly-launched All Out Soccer podcast, hosted by Jeremy Goldstein and Joseph McBride, brings fresh analysis and hot takes on the World Cup in the US.
  • A global scouting report with insight and analysis on the key players to watch, tactics, big-name managers, and all the compelling storylines behind every country competing this summer
  • Interactive widgets that let fans predict winners, pick sweepstakes teams, rate the players and more.
  • New analysis strand on the Mirror produced in partnership with 'supercomputer' Machine Football, explaining some of the how and why of the World Cup.

Director of Sport Jake Murtagh said: “This World Cup, our offering will be bigger than ever, with more live, more video and more audio than ever before. Our 30+ reporters on the ground will be at the heart of the action, bringing you all of the news, video and analysis from the greatest sporting event on the planet.

“At Reach we are uniquely placed to bring the World Cup to life through both a national and regional lens, with our national brands delivering the big moments, expert analysis and agenda-setting stories that define the tournament and our local brands focusing on local players, fans and communities, showing how the World Cup is being experienced across the country.”
