Sam Gregory joins the Scott Trust board

The Scott Trust, sole shareholder of Guardian Media Group, has announced the appointment of technologist, researcher and human rights advocate Sam Gregory to its board.

Sam is executive director of the human rights organisation WITNESS, a global organisation that harnesses the power of video and audiovisual technology to tell stories, document the truth and defend human rights. 

As one of the leading authorities on deepfakes and other forms of AI-generated misinformation and disinformation, Sam has testified to both Houses of the US Congress on AI and synthetic media. Under his leadership WITNESS received the inaugural Peabody Global Impact Award in 2024 for work championing the power of emergent media technologies in defence of human rights around the world.
