Spatial Global named 'Employer of the Year' for Derbyshire

Keswick Enterprises Group company, Spatial Global, has been named 'Employer of the Year' for Derbyshire, in the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards 2016.

Castle Donington-based Spatial Global is a specialist provider of international freight forwarding, mail, courier, e-commerce, fulfilment, logistics, warehousing and related added-value services.

The East Midlands Chamber's Award is designed to recognise organisations that demonstrate a commitment to people development and the implementation and promotion of a learning and development culture. Entrants must demonstrate how this culture has contributed to the business's overall success.

Spatial Global was also a finalist in two additional categories in both the Derbyshire and Leicestershire Business Awards this year: 'Excellence in International Trade' and 'Business Improvement Through Technology'.

The 'Employer of the Year' Award was presented to Spatial Global's Rachel Morley, General Manager - Operations, and Quinten Evans, IT Manager, at a black-tie gala awards ceremony in Derby on 16 September. The event was hosted by regional TV weather presenter Emma Jesson.

Rachel commented: "We are very pleased indeed to be acknowledged as one of Derbyshire's leading companies. Our staff are our biggest asset, and - as a service company - we are only as good as the people who provide support every day and who liaise with our customers. So keeping our teams focused and driven, while creating a workplace and culture where individuals can thrive, is essential to our success - and contributes to the Spatial Global experience for colleagues and customers alike."

Mike Wallis, Executive Chairman of Spatial Global and a main board director of parent company The Keswick Enterprises Group, summed-up: "We are delighted that our achievements have been recognised by East Midlands Chamber of Commerce. High quality customer service demands consistently high standards of professionalism and personal integrity. Internal development is important at Spatial Global, and all our current managers have progressed through the business. Our senior ambassadors therefore all have grass-roots knowledge of our operations, which - combined with their specialist management training - gives them unique abilities to identify opportunities for advancement and improvement.

"Spatial focuses on export business - helping UK firms to achieve success on a world stage. By avoiding mistakes, presenting themselves well, and getting timely payment for their efforts, our customers gain a head start in international trade over their competitors."

A third of Spatial Global's staff joined the business over 10 years ago, while many have been with the company for two decades or more, says the company.
