The group said she “will be helping some of the best writers from around the UK to build on the momentum that has started organically on the platform.”

It added: "It is the organic success of a litany of UK-based writers that has given us such confidence that making a serious investment in the UK is a smart bet."

“We’re excited for what’s to come from a region with such a proud history of journalism and literature,” said the group, “and we welcome Farrah to the Substack team.”

UK-based users of Substack, who have started their own subscription newsletters over the platform, include former political adviser Dominic Cummings, journalist Dan Hitchens, and authors Salman Rushdie and Jeanette Winterson.
