Reporting to the editor-in-chief, Tal will play a central role in overseeing the running of PA’s newsroom; from driving editorial standards and the management of operational resources, to developing new video-first working practices. The role also covers legal and regulatory responsibilities across all content production and publication.
Tal Gottesman brings a wealth of newsroom management to PA, having served as The i's managing editor for nearly five years. She was previously deputy managing editor at MailOnline as part of its digital expansion and assistant managing editor at the Telegraph.
Tal Gottesman says: “I’m delighted to be joining PA Media - an organisation I’ve long admired for its trusted journalism, strong editorial heritage and ambitious future. I look forward to working with teams across the business to support its growth and development in 2026 and beyond.”
Jack Lefley, Press Association editor-in-chief, says: “Tal has a brilliant track record of delivering successful editorial transformation and growth. I’m delighted she is joining PA to help drive forward key projects, including our move to become a video-first agency, at a time when the need for our trusted journalism is greater than ever.”
Tal Gottesman will join PA in February.
