Subscribers will be able to read the latest issues of the title, as well as all back issues going back to 2005, through the Exact Editions digital platform. All content is fully-searchable with intuitive display options – and is available via the Exactly iOS/Google Play mobile application for on-the-go reading.
The Automobile specialises in cars from the dawn of motoring to the 1960s. The title is aimed at classic car collectors and connoisseurs; offering thoughtful, in-depth reportage and stylish design and photography, added Exact Editions. Published by Enthusiast Publishing, the magazine began in 1982 and has existed in print throughout on a monthly basis. The new digital archive aims to offer readers a new way of enjoying the magazine, as well as widening the scope for the title’s audience.
Exact Editions, who digitise and manage subscriptions to the archive, say they are a “pit stop” for many automotive publishers looking to explore digital subscriptions. Most recently, Exact Editions has created complete archives for Haymarket’s Autocar and Classic & Sports Car, and enjoying long-standing subscription arrangements with Land Rover Monthly and Autosport.
For The Automobile, a complete archive with all of the magazine’s remaining issues stretching back to 1982 will be available for subscribers in the new year.
Jonathan Rishton, publisher of The Automobile, commented: “The team at Enthusiast Publishing and The Automobile is excited to have this new digital subscription product available. We take great care producing a premium print magazine, so it’s pleasing to see a digital platform that reflects the look and feel of the print – all whilst offering dynamic methods of browsing and digital delivery.”
Managing Director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner, voiced: “Exact Editions is the proud home of many magazines with loyal readerships – and The Automobile is no exception. We’ve enjoying digitising the magazine for the first time and hope new subscribers will enjoy the magazine’s excellent reportage of historic cars.
