The Middle East Magazine launches digital archive for libraries

The pan-Arab publication, The Middle East Magazine, has launched a complete digital archive of every issue of the monthly magazine.

The Middle East Magazine has worked with digital publishing company, Exact Editions, to make a searchable database of the entire 40 year backfile, with over 450 issues, and 27,000 pages of opinion pieces, interviews, reviews and case studies now available at the tap of a button.

Covering a wide range of topics, from business coverage to cultural affairs, lifestyle features and regional analysis, The Middle East Magazine archive is a valuable resource for researchers interested in the culture, finance and politics of the Middle East, with all the issues available since the very first one published in 1974.

The database, exclusively available for library and institutional subscribers, can be accessed on a wide range of platforms including the Exact Editions web portal, and iOS and Android apps. Exact Editions institutional subscriptions give network-wide IP authenticated access to the complete archive of back issues, creating a seamless cross platform resource for librarians and researchers of Arab and Middle Eastern topics, says the company.

A subscription to the archive also includes an administrator account to track usage of the content among end users, as well as remote access so that the database can be accessed off campus.

The Middle East Magazine archive will also be available as a Perpetual Access purchase for a select few foundation libraries, giving the opportunity to certain libraries to add this resource to their permanent collection.
