Tindle Newspapers has announced the purchase of the Cornwall-based Voice Newspapers series, extending its reach into the local Cornwall marketplace.
The eight titles in the Voice series, based in Truro, will form part of Tindle Newspapers Cornwall Ltd following the acquisition from AD’ Sales Limited, owned by Peter Masters, the publisher added.
Promoted as “a hub for communities across Cornwall” the Voice titles cover Newquay, St Austell, Truro, Bodmin, Saltash, Liskeard, Penzance and Camborne.
Tindle Newspapers say that Voice Newspapers staff, who have been notified of the sale, will join Tindle Newspapers Cornwall Ltd.
Tindle Newspapers, a privately-owned UK local media company, owns newspapers and news websites covering communities in Cornwall, Devon, Isle of Man, Somerset, Hampshire, Surrey, Essex and Wales. The Group also owns radio stations in the Channel Islands and Ireland.
Scott Wood, managing director of Tindle Newspapers Ltd, said: “We are excited to strengthen our position in Cornwall by acquiring the popular and trusted Voice series.
“The Voice titles will complement our current newspapers and websites, generating new opportunities. I look forward to welcoming the team at Voice into the Tindle family.”
