Trinity Mirror’s Welsh titles unveil e-editions

16 July, 2013: Trinity Mirror has announced the launch of new tablet e-editions for the Western Mail and Daily Post.

Exact digital replicas of the Trinity Mirror-owned newspapers will be available daily for iPad from today, along with further e-editions of the Wales on Sunday and the South Wales Echo.

It means readers of the titles can enjoy their content in print, online (through the WalesOnline and Daily Post websites) or via the brilliant new e-editions, say the publishers.

Alan Edmunds, editor of the Western Mail, the national newspaper of Wales, said: "This is an important development for our readers and advertisers.

"I am sure it will be welcomed by all who care passionately that the big Welsh national issues are covered extensively in the media on all available platforms. It is crucial that we engage our growing digital audience in new ways like this."

Alison Gow, editor of the North Wales-based Daily Post, said: "This is a really exciting development for the Daily Post; it gives readers choice and convenience, and complements what we do in print, on dailypost.co.uk and on mobile brilliantly."

The e-editions of the Western Mail, Daily Post and South Wales Echo will each cost £7.99 a month, while Wales on Sunday will cost £3.99 a month.

The new products were unveiled at the Senedd in Cardiff on 16 July at a launch event sponsored by Positif, Wales' largest public affairs company.
