Andrea Behounková is widely recognised in the Czech publishing world, having spent the past eight years editing Elle Czech Republic. Behounková’s career began editing a national newspaper, Ceský deník at 21 years old. She then spent seven years working across various forms of media including television and reporting until moving into women’s fashion and lifestyle publishing.
During this time, Behounková held the post of Editor-at-Large of Style and was then pivotal in successfully relaunching Žena a život, twice honoured as ‘Best Magazine’ by The Publishers Union. Behounková was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Elle Czech Republic in 2010 where she also oversaw the launch of Elle Man and relaunch of Elle Decoration.
“After years of speculation, I am thrilled to see the arrival of Vogue to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As the market has matured, the hunger amongst potential readers and advertising clients has grown. This is the most fitting time to launch Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia. 2018 represents the 100th anniversary of the establishment of our republic and we are marking it with the launch of Vogue,” remarked Behounková.
Behounková will spearhead the launch of the newest Vogue platform. Under Behounková s direction, Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia will build on the heritage of the title, whilst adopting an up-to-the minute, digital approach to news.
Joining Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia, Behounková will work to build a world-class fashion team comprised of experienced journalists and authors as well as seeking out emerging talent. Over the coming months, Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia will be announcing further new appointments, say the publishers.
Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia is the twenty-fourth edition of the magazine worldwide.
