Vogue Hong Kong to launch in 2019

Condé Nast International yesterday announced that the 26th edition of Vogue will launch in Hong Kong in 2019.

The Hong Kong edition of Vogue will debut digitally and in print and will be published under a licence agreement with Rubicon Media Ltd. Vogue Hong Kong will strengthen the global brand’s presence on the Asian Continent, joining the sister titles of Mandarin, Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean, Thai and Indian editions of Vogue.

Hong Kong has a developed and growing economy as well as an established luxury market. The launch of Vogue in Hong Kong cements the region’s status as the leading centre for fashion and luxury retail within Asia, says Condé Nast International.

Markus Grindel, Managing Director Licensing at Condé Nast commented, “Hong Kong has a well-established media market with a strong appetite for luxury fashion and beauty among its sophisticated urban consumers - it’s a natural fit for Vogue and we are excited to partner with Desiree Au and her team to launch Vogue Hong Kong.”

Desiree Au has been appointed publisher of Vogue Hong Kong. Desiree Au is a Hong Kong born media veteran who has both edited and written for leading newspapers, including The Hong Kong Standard, the South China Morning Post and The International New York Times. Further editorial appointments will be announced in due course.

Vogue Hong Kong plans to feature a blend of fashion, culture, art and lifestyle content that is accessible through its premium print magazine, website, social media, videos, and more. The print edition will be published in traditional Chinese language, with a bilingual website in both Chinese and English.

Vogue Hong Kong is the 26th edition of the magazine worldwide. Vogue is published in the United States, Britain, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Japan, China mainland, China Taiwan, Mexico & Latin America, the Middle East, Korea, Brazil, Greece, Australia, Portugal, India, Turkey, Thailand, the Netherlands and Ukraine.
