After 10 successful years as editor-in-chief and prior to that, five years as creative director, Tony Chambers becomes brand and content director. Tony’s attention will be on identifying new opportunities for the Wallpaper* brand which include developing new product propositions, new technologies and new growth in international territories. Alongside this, Sarah Douglas, who celebrates 10 years with the brand this year, will be promoted from creative director to editor and will focus on continuing to deliver growth across the print and digital businesses, say the publishers.
Tony Chambers says: “The Wallpaper* brand has never been stronger and I’m thrilled to be focusing on the future, our global expansion and ensuring we capitalise on that strength. I’m delighted for Sarah – the perfect person to ensure the core business is as fresh, innovative and as relevant as ever.”
Sarah Douglas adds: “I am proud and truly honoured to become the next editor of Wallpaper*. As we celebrate our 21st anniversary, I look forward to working closely with our team, collaborators and creative community to continue to engage, inspire and shape this exciting new chapter.”
Roger Cummings, managing director, Wallpaper*, says: “The October issue will celebrate 21 years of Wallpaper*. To promote Sarah, Wallpaper’s first female editor, whilst Tony focuses on new global growth demonstrates the enormous opportunity Wallpaper* has to build on 21 hugely successful years. Sarah is exceptionally talented with a wealth of experience and industry contacts and I am delighted that she will be driving the core business forward. Additionally, the focus Tony will bring to global expansion will ensure that Wallpaper* remains the world’s leading authority in design and style.”
The changes come into effect immediately.
