woman&home appoints Kath Brown as editor

woman&home, the lifestyle brand for 40-plus women, has announced Kath Brown as the new editor of the brand. Kath was previously the lifestyle director of Woman.

Having started her career on youth titles Just Seventeen, more! and Sugar, Kath progressed to become launch editor of Red Magazine, associate editor of Elle and also Marie Claire. She has spent the last few years at Time Inc. UK working on Woman and has played a key role turning the brand into a premium lifestyle weekly, the publisher says.

Kath says: "Grown-up women are having their moment, so it's a very exciting time to be part of woman&home - a title that knows them inside out. This is an amazing brand that makes its audience think ' Yes I can do that' and feel really good about themselves. I am so honoured and delighted to be taking the reins."

Roger Cummings, managing director, women's lifestyle adds: " woman&home is one of Time Inc. UK's flagship brands and I am delighted that Kath will be the new editor. Kath brings with her a proven track record in the glossy monthly market alongside her experience across the highly valuable GenYnot audience. woman&home already has a significant multi-platform offering that Kath and team will build upon to take it to the next stage in its growth journey. Kath's editorial and commercial experience will be key in delivering this and I look forward to working closely with her as we develop new exciting opportunities."

Kath replaces Sue James, editorial director of woman&home, who left the business in July to set up her own media and brand consultancy business.
