Atex and Alma forge partnership

Alma News Media, a digital news media player in Finland, has announced a deeper partnership with global software company Atex.

Atex and Alma forge partnership
Jorma Ainassaari: “Key partnership with Alma is an important milestone for Atex.”

Alma News Media says its partnership with Atex strengthens its ongoing digital evolution and commitment to delivering enhanced user experiences for media subscribers.

Although Alma has been offering digital subscriptions since 1996, Atex says Kayak will help Alma grow its digital subscription business more efficiently. The collaboration will leverage product-based, continuous (agile) development methodologies to ensure Alma receives new features swiftly. This approach will also facilitate the development of Kayak, Atex’s flagship product, benefiting all Atex customers, the company continued.

Atex says the partnership will see Alma utilizing several key Kayak modules:

  • Kayak eSuite Self Services: Alma’s subscribers will have a seamless self-service experience.
  • Kayak eSuite Sales Portal: Enhancing sales capabilities while allowing Alma to maintain part of the campaign management through its own developed websites, utilizing the Kayak API.
  • Kayak eSuite Integration with Alma’s SSO: Ensuring a smooth and secure single sign-on experience for users.
  • Payment Integration: Incorporating Paytrail and Kayak Payment API for streamlined and secure payment processes.
  • AWS SNS and Webhook Integration: Facilitating efficient communication with email services and other integrations.

Atex says these modules form the foundation of the MyType Vault digital paywall solution.

All Alma publications, including Iltalehti and Kauppalehti, are already live on the Kayak platform, added Atex. Later this year, new features will be launched that showcase Kayak’s versatile and scalable capabilities, Atex continued.

Looking ahead, Atex says Alma’s in-house developed system will be replaced with Kayak modules. Additionally, Kayak’s campaign management capabilities will undergo renewal to better support digital subscriptions and digital products.

Jorma Ainassaari, VP sales and operations, Atex Software said: “Key partnership with Alma is an important milestone for Atex. It boosts the development of the Kayak product family, especially by bringing fresh ideas and functional demands for digital transformation. We are looking forward to a fruitful and mutually beneficial co-operation with the Alma team.”

Johanna Suhonen, VP content business, Alma News Media said: “We are expanding our collaboration with Atex to cover our entire content business. Kayak’s versatile capabilities have already impressed us, and I look forward to developing and growing our business together with Atex successfully.”
