Bestofmedia implements content discovery platform Outbrain

Bestofmedia Group, the international technology publisher, has implemented content discovery platform Outbrain on French sites, and also international online properties in USA, UK and Germany.

With Outbrain, Bestofmedia is seeing increased page views and online engagement, and is developing an additional revenue stream through third-party content.

Outbrain uses optimised algorithms to recommend interesting content which is personalised for each individual reader. This is allowing Bestofmedia to generate a significant number of incremental clicks. This creates a more engaging user experience while increasing the sites’ page views, says Outbrain. Bestofmedia will also generate revenue via paid links to third-party external content (currently only on US and UK sites).

The group is using the platform across Tom's Guide and Tom's Hardware, in France, USA, the UK, and Germany.

Christophe Brossard, COO Europe Bestofmedia said: “Our presence in the US allows us to identify innovative solutions, and we've been following Outbrain over the past few months. We have implemented Outbrain following successful first trials of the platform – it is helping us to further engage with our audience by providing relevant content. We are also particularly interested in the "monetization" of this solution, which is being tested in the U.S. and UK, and we look forward to seeing the results in France soon. "

Simon Edelstyn, Managing Director Europe, said, “Our relationship with Bestofmedia is a great example of how Outbrain can work across multiple properties and territories for an international publisher. Through keeping users engaged and interested there are clear benefits for publishers, such as increased page views, stickier sites and an additional revenue stream if they choose to implement paid links.”

Outbrain’s traffic acquisition programme can also be used by publishers and marketers to attract new readers and drive them to specific content in order to grow audiences and hit advertiser targets. Outbrain enables content-creating organisations to attract new audiences, by including third-party external content alongside other publishers’ own editorial.

Outbrain is already used in the US by CNN, AOL, Elle, MSNBC, USA Today and The New York Post, and in the UK by over 120 sites including Sky News, Future Publishing’s Tech Radar, Trinity Mirror and The Daily Express, Outbrain recently expanded its global reach to include France and Germany. Outbrain is now installed on over 3.5 billion content pages worldwide, generating over 200 million monthly clicks.
