Centaur Media Announces Two Key Appointments

Centaur Media yesterday announced two new appointments, creating, says the company, a combination of expertise that reaches across both its editorial and commercial arms.

Russell Parsons has been named Editor of Marketing Week, replacing Ruth Mortimer, who has been promoted to the position of Content Director for Centaur's marketing titles. She will continue to have an active role overseeing Marketing Week but all operations on the website and print magazine will now be led by Russell.

Russell has worked for Marketing Week for five years, most recently as News Editor. He joined the team with a wealth of digital and financial journalism knowledge and is well respected in the marketing industry. He regularly contributes to the national media on marketing matters and has recently taken part in high-profile European panels on trust.

Russell has also played a role as a mentor within Centaur, with his reporters not only winning internal Centaur awards for editorial excellence but also external awards for new journalism talent.

Andria Vidler, Chief Executive of Centaur Media, says: "It is always very rewarding to be able to promote people internally and I am delighted that Marketing Week will have Russell at its helm. It is one of Centaur's flagship publications and a key brand for the business, driving innovation and growth for the group."

Kate McVeigh has been appointed as Commercial Director for the marketing solutions teams across Centaur Marketing. Kate has over 15 years experience leading large scale commercial teams, most recently as the Sales Director for CNN International in New York where she was based for 5 years.

Katharine Plunkett, Centaur Marketing's MD says: "Kate brings a wealth of creativity and expertise to the portfolio, her experience in working with large organisations on innovative marketing solutions is perfect for our brands. I am thrilled she has joined us."
