In his new role, working with Fashion Director Catherine Hayward, Charlie will lead the coverage of style, fashion, luxury and grooming across all of Esquire’s platforms.
From the May issue, he will be co-editing a redesigned Style section alongside Johnny Davis, Esquire Deputy Editor and Editor of Esquire’s Big Black Book and Esquire’s Big Watch Book.
Esquire Editor-in-Chief, Alex Bilmes, says: “Charlie Teasdale is one of the best and brightest young journalists I’ve worked with. In his three years at Esquire to date he has proved himself an excellent and ambitious writer, editor and ambassador for Esquire. I can’t imagine a better person to take on the crucial role of Style Director at a very exciting time for the brand. I know Charlie is going to do a terrific job. If stylish men still wore hats, my hat would be off to him.”
Charlie Teasdale says: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed Style Director of Esquire. It was a long-held dream of mine just to write for the magazine, so to have been given this responsibility is a great privilege, and I look forward to continuing to work with an exemplary team on Britain’s most insightful, stylish and engaging men’s title.”
Charlie joined Esquire in 2014 as Deputy Style Editor. A replacement for that vacancy will be announced shortly, says Hearst.
